After a long day of visiting wats and learning about Buddhism, there’s nothing better than to relax and chill with a calming night cap. Anantara Spa and Resort is the perfect place for this. Don’t judge the size of this place, it is famous in Chiang Mai and completely beloved by locals and travelers. You can find North Gate Jazz Co-Op on the north wall of the Old Town near Chang Phuak Gate. This is a great venue for sipping beverages and listening to really good jazz players. Tuesday night is open jam night so bring an instrument if you have one and sit in. They have created a very supportive atmosphere here for expressing any musical thoughts that you may have.
Zoe in Yellow is a happening club where you can go nuts with live music, while bumping into tons of expats and travelers. Located at a farang party area on Ratchapachinai Road in Old Town. All tuk-tuk and taxi drivers can get you here if you cannot find it on your own. The reggae, dance music, and hard rock are fabulous! The scene gets crazy, so have fun.

Boy Blues Bar is located inside the night bazaar on Chang Klan Road near the Ping River. This is the home of Boy, one of Chiang Mai’s premier guitar players. Lots of older farangs hang out here, and Monday night is open mic night, so if you like the blues and want to hear some good players, then find the Boy Blues Bar and enjoy.
