Taiwanese know how to have a good time. To experience a good time is a pretty easy task in this fun city of Taipei. Here’s a bit of waterfalls, hideaway cocktail bars and trendy hotspots. Just be sure to not all overly drunk in public since locals do not appreciate public display of debauchery (and neither does the police.) So don’t be a douche and have an amazing time!

1. Club Myst – Waterfall Club

110, Taipei City, Xinyi District, Songshou Rd, No. 12, 9F (map, website)

If you like a club that comes with a waterfall and a pond, then Club Myst is your deal. A table/bottle-service-focused club, the music is mainly house and happening. The bathroom also has glass walls that shows off the best view of Taipei 101. PS. Don’t take any photos of the girls pole dancing, you will need to deal with security guards immediately.

2. Barcode – The “It” Trendy Lounge

110, Taipei City, Xinyi District, Songshou Rd, No. 22, 5F. Neo 19 Building. (map, website)

Barcode is a where all the cool kids hang out in Taipei. Situated inside the Neo 19 Building, the bar has comfy and lounge-friendly furniture that you can sink in, along with the other pretty people of this rising city. This is an expat-friendly lounge bar, perfect to kick off the night before jetting off to a a night of dancing at the club.

3. OUNCE – A Hidden Gem Cocktail Bar

No. 40, Lane 63, Section 2, Dunhua S Rd, Da’an District, Taipei City, 106 (map, website)

One of my personal favorites is OUNCE, hidden in an alley but serving up the city’s best cocktails. If you love a speakeasy vibe, the ability to strike up a conversation with the bartender about mixology in an intimate ambiance, then this spot is made for you. Forget about the menu, try a cocktail made on the fly by the bartender. Guaranteed deliciousness.

4. Trio 三重奏 – Best Wine Bar

No. 12, Alley 54, Lane 63, Section 2, Dunhua S Rd, Da’an District, Taipei City, 106 (map, website)

Completely off-the-beaten path, and non-touristic, Trio is where locals come for great wines in a calm and classy setting. Trio is fantastic for relaxing drinks afterwork, ending a day of long meetings and all you’re craving for is a nice bottle of fine wine or a tasty glass of cocktail.

5. Corner Office

GuangFu South Road, Alley 180, No. 8 Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106 (map, website)

We love Corner Office because the owner, Doan Bui, knows his beers. Not only does he know how to have a good time, you won’t go wrong with a glass of cold brew at Corner Office inspired by his passion for a crafty pint. If you love hanging out with local crowds that speak English, this bar/restaurant always welcome a fun crowd.
