All this week, social media went on fire since WOW Air began to offer $199 departing flights from California to Europe. The price does not include roundtrip and the airline charges extra for carry ons and checked bags, reserving seats. Nonetheless, what a sweet deal!

The marketing promo was followed by WOW Air’s announcement to expand into California in November, prompting $99 flights from SFO and LAX to Reykjavik, Iceland. Starting this summer, WOW Air will begin flights from Europe to SFO five days a week and to LAX four times a week.

As of today, the flights offered from US cities to Dublin, Berlin, Amsterdam and Reykjavik look like this. Price points are not as low as $99 or $199 but still considerably affordable. For certain dates, the $199 price points will still be offered through the end of 2016.

WOW Airline discounts

To celebrate new services in California, the Icelandic low-cost carrier ran a giveaway contest via Snapchat and Twitter by using the hashtag #WowInCali. Enter for a chance to win, and you might just snag a free flight!
