Terry Richardson’s current exhibition “Portraits” opened on January 14th and will continue through February 20th. The American photographer’s fourth solo show is a presentation of Richardson’s 20-year career from 1995 – 2015. He has created noteworthy fashion editorials, celebrity portraits, and personal series that reflect upon his raw, spontaneous and thought-provoking style.

Born in New York City, the 50-year-old photographer began shooting at East Village parties, producing instinctive snapshots that captured the underground city nightlife. In 1994, his photos were published in Vibe magazine. The same photos were later featured at Paris’ International Festival de la Mode. Richardson’s career took off as he shot multiple campaigns and spreads for Marc Jacobs, Sisley, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Rolling Stone, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and more.

The “Portraits” exhibition spotlights Amy Winehouse singing to a chicken, Lady Gaga in a trash bin, Kate Moss putting on lipstick as she smokes a cigarette, and Richardson himself shaking hands with a younger President Barack Obama. The exhibition also includes photographs of Richardson’s father Bob – also a fashion photographer – and his mother Annie who passed away in 2012.
