How To Keep Your Skype From Crashing…Again!

BY TEAM JST

Facebook Skype app

It keeps happening! And it’s really, REALLY annoying.

Even with the existence of FaceTime and Viper, the way most travelers stay connected with loved ones back home is still via Skype. So when it crashes over and over again, it affects too many of us and a solution is in much dire need.

It’s no secret there’s been a bug causing your Skype app (both iOS and Android) to crash. The original problem occurred when eight characters “http://:” were typed into a chat history on Skype’s app for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Windows (not for Skype for Mac or Windows 8.1,) the Skype app would suddenly crash. The worse part was, once these characters were in your chat history, the app couldn’t start.

Fortunately, Skype swiftly provided a solution by issuing a software update which travelers can download to fix the bug. For smartphone users, simply download the latest version of the app for iOS or Android devices.

Cross our fingers, let’s hope we can now enjoy long distance chats crash-free just like before.
