This month, Tina Keng Gallery in Neihu District is giving art fanatics an eyeful of religious art and cult-status modernism. Meet Wang Zixuan from China, a Buddhist artist (now a female monk) who creates large meditative pieces exquisite zen. Wang’s oil paintings, whether in black, grey or white, ooze of serene aura that can pretty much cool down any cup of bold black coffee. Crowd favorites are ones with shadows of the Buddha, solemn yet powerful.

Downstairs of the gallery features genius works of a cult-favorite: Xiaobai Su, who layers oil, lacquer, linen, and wood to create large and compelling pieces. Born in China then moved to Germany, Su inspires the risk taker in all of us to push forward and be daring. His pieces convey the concept of multi-dimensions while infusing Eastern history with Western execution. Walking through the meticulously designed space, Su’s art works pop across all corners with dominance leaving culturatis provoked…but in the best possible way.

Both exhibitions are open ’til the end of March and we definitely think they’re worth an hour away from your busy day!
