It began on Sunday night, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge landed in New York City for a three-day trip. This is their first trip to the Big Apple, and of course, they’re doing it in fab style.

The couple arrived via first class on British Airways. On Sunday night, the Empire State Building turned into colors of the Union Jack flag, in red, white and blue welcoming the young royal couple as they stepped inside the Carlyle Hotel, a favorite of Princess Diana.

According to ABC News, British Ambassador Sir Peter Westmacott said,

They are doing a number of things to support charities they really care about — disadvantage young people, mental health, illegal wildlife trade, which is something they have worked on in the past.

On Monday, Prince William visited Washington D.C. to meet with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office to reinforce “the special relationship” shared by U.S. and the UK. On the way to the nation’s capital, Prince William flew first class with bodyguards and personnel by his side on an US Airways flight. Surprised travelers in the same cabin were able to capture a unique moment:

This was be the first time Prince William met President Obama since 2011 when the U.S. president traveled to Buckingham Palace. After meeting President Obama, William headed over to a World Bank session to address issues regarding illegal wildlife trading.

On his way back to NYC, Prince William flew yet another commercial flight and encountered another famous face from CNN:

We love you, Anderson!

On the other hand, Duchess of Cambridge, who is 5 months pregnant, spent Monday with NC Mayor Bill de Blasio, Chirlane McCray visiting a childcare center.

On Monday night, the royal couple met the American version of royals: Beyonce and Jay Z, at an NBA game where Brooklyn Nets played against the Cleveland Cavaliers (yup, King James was also present.)

On Tuesday, both the Prince and Princess are set to visit the 9/11 memorial and attend a charity dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art for St. Andrews University – where they both went to school.

Prince George was not along for the Big Apple adventure, but we have a feeling he would’ve gotten well with Blue Ivy. #MatchMadeInHeaven
